How to register Dividend Reinvestment Plan (DRP) for Maybank 2026?

Maybank has declared a single-tier first interim dividend of RM0.31 per share for FY2026, and its Dividend Reinvestment Plan (DRP) applies. This is Maybank’s 24th DRP. If you held Maybank shares on the entitlement date, you can choose to reinvest part of your dividend into new Maybank shares at a discount, and you can do it fully online.

This guide covers the key dates, how to submit your election through the registrar’s online portal, the costs involved, and how to tell whether participating is worth it.

Can I Submit the Maybank DRP Election Online?

Yes. Instead of mailing a physical Dividend Reinvestment Form (DRF) to Boardroom, you can submit an electronic DRF (e-DRF) through the Boardroom Smart Investor Portal (BSIP) at investor.boardroomlimited.com.

Note: online election via BSIP is currently only available to individual shareholders. Corporate shareholders need to submit the physical form.

Step-by-Step: How to Elect Online

Step 1: Register a BSIP account

Go to investor.boardroomlimited.com and sign up as an individual shareholder. New accounts go through verification, so register as early as possible. Don’t leave it to the deadline day. If you already have a BSIP account (for example, from attending an AGM virtually), just log in.

Step 2: Find the Maybank 24th DRP

After logging in, look for the corporate exercise listing for Malayan Banking Berhad’s 24th DRP and open the e-DRF.

Step 3: Enter the number of new shares

Your Notice of Election shows your Maximum Share Entitlement. You can apply for all of it or only part of it. The remaining electable portion will be paid in cash.

Step 4: Pay the fees and submit

Pay the applicable fees online and submit before 12 Oct 2026, 5:00 PM. Keep a screenshot or copy of your submission confirmation.

Don’t want to reinvest?

Do nothing. If you don’t submit an election, your full RM0.31 per share will be paid in cash on 22 Oct 2026.

What Does It Cost?

Participating isn’t free. Expect:

  • RM10.00 stamp duty per form
  • RM3.24 handling fee for electronic submission via BSIP

That’s about RM13.24 in total for an online election.

Is It Worth It? Do the Maths First

The benefit of the DRP is the discount: new shares at RM9.80, versus a market price of around RM10.04 at the time of writing (6 Oct 2026). That works out to roughly RM0.24 saved per new share.

To cover the RM13.24 in fees, you need about 55 new shares. Since each share you hold gives you RM0.05 to reinvest, that means holding roughly 11,000 Maybank shares just to break even.

Shares held Electable amount New shares (at RM9.80) Approx. discount gain After RM13.24 fees
2,000 RM100 10 RM2.40 –RM10.84
5,000 RM250 25 RM6.00 –RM7.24
11,000 RM550 56 RM13.44 ≈ RM0
20,000 RM1,000 102 RM24.48 +RM11.24
50,000 RM2,500 255 RM61.20 +RM47.96

Discount gain is based on a market price of about RM10.04 and will change as the share price moves. The new shares are only credited on 22 Oct 2026, so the actual gain depends on where Maybank trades then.

The bottom line: for smaller holdings, the fees usually wipe out the discount, and taking cash is the better choice. For larger holdings, or if you simply want to grow your Maybank position over time, the DRP can make sense.
